I'm a bit late on this piece of news, but I decided to post it anyways. According to Tokyohive, Kitagawa Keiko will be starring in the drama, Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de. In this drama, Keiko plays the part of Honsho Reiko, a wealthy yet rookie detective who usually solves cases with the help of her butler Kageyama, played by Sakurai Sho. The drama will be airing at 9PM on Tuesdays on Fuji TV. I'm a bit mixed about this. On one hand, I'm a big Kitagawa Keiko fan and I look forward to seeing just about anything with her in it. On the other hand, we've seen a rich detective drama before, called Fugoh Keiji. That drama was outright terrible, IMO, full of cheesy ways to solve cases with massive amounts of money. However, as long as we don't have a story-line similar to that, I might be ok with it. This drama is based off of a manga of the same name. The drama premiers in October.

Aragaki Yui (Code Blue, Smile) plays the part of Ayukawa Wakaba, an ambitious woman who intends to become an internationally famous lawyer. Growing up dirt poor and her personal experiences have driven her ambitions. Wakaba also dreams of marrying a man with loads of wealth. After the first company that hires Wakaba sinks before she even has her first day of work, she manages to find work at another international law firm, Samejima Sakuragawa Law Firm. However, the law firm's owner, Sakuragawa Shoko (played by Yakushimaru Hiroko from 1 Liter of Tears) assigns Wakaba the task of babysitting her five year old daughter, Hinata. This is much to Wakaba's dismay because she detests kids. Along the way, Wakaba meets Yamada Shota (played by Nishikido Ryo from 1 Litre of Tears and Attention Please). Initially, Wakaba mistakens Shota for being a pervert, and has a negative view of him due to his lower class status and seemingly lack of ambition. However, as Wakaba slowly gets to know Shota, she realizes there's more to him than meets the eye. Shota's kid, Pitaro, goes to the same pre-school as Hinata. Shota has raised Pitaro on his own and was once a respected French chef.

The story admittedly isn't anything original. It's your typical story of money doesn't buy happiness. However, it's still a very fun watch. The sharp contrast between the two main characters makes for some interesting character development that so far has been very well written. The two leads learn from each other which is the driving force behind their development. The first seven episodes have aired so far with four more left. It's also a big plus to have Aragaki Yui and Nishikido Ryo playing as the leads.
